My Mac Collection

I bought my first Mac products around two years ago now and they were actually the first high end brand that i've purchased from. I don't have a huge collection from Mac, but I love and get a lot of use out of the little collection that I've built up over the past few years. I love Mac as a brand as their products are such good quality and they have such a wide range of products to choose from. I especially like their lipsticks, which I know have five of (I know not a lot but I love them!).

Studio Fix Fluid - I got matched with the shade NW20, which is very slightly darker than the Revlon Colour Stay foundation that I also love to wear, but still works well with my skin tone. I really like this foundation which is a medium/heavy coverage as it is very buildable and so I usually wear it if I'm going out or on a bad skin day when I need a bit more coverage.

Mineralise Blush in 'Dainty' - This is my all time favourite blush and use it almost every day! The colour is absolutely perfect for me and works both in summer and winter and I think that it would look really good on so many different skin tones.

Blot Powder - I bought this at the beginning of the year and have been really liking it, although I think that I'm going to look for a more affordable alternative as I get through this really quickly. Also, the shade that I was matched to is 'Medium - Dark' which I was really surprised at as I'm pretty pale.

Matte Lipstick's in 'Please Me', 'So Chaud' - Matte lipsticks are my favourite as their staying power is so so good! Please Me is my all time favourite lip shade as it's the perfect pale pink for me, where as So Chaud is a lovely bold orange/red shade.

Satin Lipsticks in 'Snob', 'Brave', 'Rebel' - Snob is the newest product in my Mac collection and so far I love it and have been wearing it so much since I bought it a few weeks ago. Brave is my perfect 'my lips but better' shade and seems to be for a lot of people! Rebel is my perfect dark lip and looks really good when dabbed onto the lips using your finger.

Matte Eyeshadow in 'Omega' - I have used this shadow for my brows for the past year and a half using the Mac 266 Brush shown below. Omega is slightly darker than my natural hair colour but I like that as my eyebrows are quite sparse and thin.

266 Brush - This small, sharp angled brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow to the brows and it gives really precise lines. It has stayed really soft and hasn't yet shed (and hopefully never will!).

New In: Beauty

Here are two items that I purchased recently and I know this post is tiny but I wanted show this Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette as it only cost me £4! I've tried a few of the shades out so far and have to say, I love them! Also, I bought the lipstick 'snob' from Mac (sorry about the photo I couldn't get a photo that showed the actual shade very well) and have bee absolutely loving it, but think I need to get a lip liner to go with it, so if any one has any recommendations please let me know. 'Snob' looks amazing on it's own but also looks really good with 'Please Me' which is my all time favourite lipstick.

Inspiration: Gossip Girl

I've been obsessing over Blair Waldorf's outfits and have even considered investing in a headband, I'm hooked. Gossip Girl has become my latest tv obsession even though I'm so so late on the band wagon. I just love their designer lifestyles and love the fact that Vera Wang made a cameo on the show!!

Blair's wedding dresses were to die for (both times!!) but I have to say the pale blue one is my favourite.

Tips: How to Make the Most of a Small Bedroom

My bedroom is tiny, and I can't even refer to it as the 'box room' as it is such weird shape and size which means that it's a killer to find furniture that fits! Despite this, I absolutely love it now that I've found perfect pieces of furniture to fit and has tried to maximise the space as much as possible.

1. Opt for light colours. I chose to paint my room white so that it looks a lot more light and airy than it actually is, but if your not into plain white walls you could choose one wall to either paint or wall paper so that you've got a pop of colour. Also, with white or cream, if you change your mind later on, on the style of your room, you can just change things like bedding or pillows rather than having to repaint.

2. Under bed storage is really helpful if you have a small room. You can by draws or boxes from places like Ikea that will fit underneath you bed and will fit all if the things that you don't reach for everyday but still need from time to time. As well as under bed storage, you could also do the same for on top or underneath your wardrobes depending on how much space you have.

3. Shelves. Shelves can look really great as well as giving you extra space in your room. I'm the kind of person who has a lot of books, magazines and films so need somewhere off the floor where I can store them. To make them look really cool you could buy some decorative book ends to go either end of the shelves.

Inspiration: Alexa Chung

Everything about Alexa Chung appeals to me, her style, her hair, her trademark makeup look! I've loved Alexa Chung for so long now, I can't even remember how I came across her but reading her book 'it' made me love her even more. I adore her masculine yet girly style and always attempt to recreate it (yet never succeed!). Is anyone else obsessed with Alexa?

Sleek 'By 3' Blush Palette in 'Pink Lemonade'

I've been wanting to purchase some new blushers for a while now, and was actually going to purchase one from Mac which would have cost me near on £20, so when I saw this blush palette - which included three different shades - for only £9.99 I instantly bought them!

This palette has two powder blushes and one cream blush and are the most perfect shades of pink, so work really well with my fair skin tone especially in the winter time. This is one of the newest Sleek by 3 blush palettes along with 'Californ.i.a' which I also bought but wanted to do a separate review on this after I've used it a bit more. Back on to 'pink lemonade' now, which I absolutely love the name of as well as the names of the blushes which are 'icing sugar', 'macaroon' and 'pink mint'.

The first shade is 'Icing Sugar' which is a very pale pink shade and has a slight shimmer to it. When I say a shimmer I don't mean the kind of shimmer that makes you look like a disco ball, but a shimmer that adds more of a natural glow to the cheeks. I really like this shade as when it's on, it's very similar to my Mac mineralise blush in Dainty which is my absolute favourite blush!
The next shade is 'Macaroon' and is a cream blush. I really like cream blushes for the days when I want to go for more of a dewy and natural look and this one last's really way throughout the day.
On to 'Pink Mint', this is slightly more brown toned than 'icing sugar', but is still a very lovely pink shade and am actually wearing this as I'm writing. I really like this blush paired with a slightly bronzed face.

So, this has become one of favourite blush palettes and was such a good price! I would definitely recommend for people with fairer skin tones.

Tips: How to Keep on Top of School Work

This is a bit of a different post today, but I wanted to share my tips for keeping on top of school/college work as last year I really underestimated how much more work you get in college compered to high school and fell behind a lot, but this year I've made sure to keep up with all of my work and here are some tips that I think could help!

1. Start to complete any homework/assignments that you get given the day that they are set. This means that you won't be panicking to get them finished the night before and will mean that they will be much better quality than if they were rushed.

2. Keep a diary to write down any homework so that you don't forgot to complete any. You could also add the dates of your exams, or when any coursework is due. You can get some really lovely ones from places like Paperchase.

3. Start revision early on. I like to go over the things that I've learnt that day in class as soon as I get home, whilst they are still quite fresh in my mind. Also, I like to make further notes on revision cards or to make mind maps that I can look back to later on in the year. This also makes things easier for you when you go to properly revise for exams.

4. If your unsure of anything, either ask you teacher or a friend from your class. Take it from someones who knows, it makes it so hard when it comes to revise for exams if there are things that you rely don't understand about a certain topic!

5. Finally, don't let school/college work take over your life, just make sure you get everything that you need to get done, done so that you don't have to worry about them.

My Picks: Makeup

1. Sleek 'Oh So Special' palette - I've seen a few blog posts with this palette and think that the colours would be perfect for my skin tone, honestly can't wait to get my hands on this!

2. Urban Decay 'Naked 3' palette - Oh, how I'd love to own this! Again, these colours would be perfect for me but it's just so expensive so it'll have to go on my Christmas list for now (sigh)

3. Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush palette in 'Hot Spice' - Makeup Revolution is a brand that's fairly new to me and reminds me somewhat of MUA with their super affordable prices and really good budget palettes and have also seen a lot of blog posts on their products lately. This palette looks great as it has a contour, highlight and a number of blush shades to choose from.

4. Soap and Glory 'Sexy Mother Blusher' - I don't care which colour I have, I just really need to get one of these. They look so so good and I'm really into cream blushers at the moment so this is great.

5. Sleek 'Lip 4 Palette in Showgirl' - These shades are the perfect pink lip colours, and also include different formulas which I think is so much better than buying four shades all of the same formula!
